Not Set in Stone
We are not permanently defined by the older versions of ourselves.
We forget that we are not set in stone and that we evolve.
We forget that the way we had to survive may not be the reality we are in now. The body doesn’t know the difference; we need to be reinformed with perspective.
We are meant to evolve and grow and challenge the beliefs put into us, or that we adapted from a place of fear.
It is discombobulating and scary when things don’t align internally and externally.
We can choose who we want to be and not look at the past for evidence or proof that we are not good enough as individuals.
The past is evidence of what you survived, not proof of who you are doomed to be.
Everyone has the ability to make little decisions that equal big change.
The resistance is pushing through the discomfort of the unknown.
I realised that we come to a point in our lives where we have to make a choice.
Do I want to feel this way for whatever time I have left?
Do I want to continue putting on blinders?
The answer I came to was, No.
I did not want to continue reinforcing the wrong perception I had of myself, and I also didn’t want to reinforce the old belief system in others.
People may not agree with me or trust me yet, but it’s a lot easier to handle now that I am not looking in everyone else’s mirror for my Sun.
